Firefighters attended 53 wildfire incidents in Northern Ireland on Thursday.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said it mobilised to 41 calls involving wildfires on Tuesday.

Police have said they are using air support to survey the area for potential suspects and further wildfires.

A firefighting operation is expected to remain in place across Tuesday in the Bloody Bridge area.

The environment minister visited the Mourne Mountains in Co Down on Monday evening to view the extent of damage caused by recent fires.

The most significant blaze took hold in the Hilltown area of Co Down on Saturday.

The PSNI has appealed for information about the incident in Ballynahinch.

A PSNI spokesperson said extensive damage had been caused to the building on Limestone Road.

The blaze occurred on the Limestone Road in the north of the city.

Police are investigating the break-in at Crumlin Fire Station, which was discovered on Tuesday morning.
