THOSE who want to praise the Lord will have the perfect opportunity to do so this coming October.

Visiting Carlow Cathedral on 17 October next will be Ivanka Ivankovic-Elez, one of the six people who say they have had visitations from the Virgin Mary.

The apparitions began in June 1981 at Medjugorje, a small village in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and since then six people, who are now called visionaries, say they have had constant visits from the Virgin Mary.

Each of the six visionaries say they are given a total of ten “secrets” that will occur on earth in the near future. They say some of the secrets relate to the whole world, while others concern the visionaries themselves or the village of Medjugorje.

Since the visions came to light, Medjugorje has become a relic in itself, with people visiting it from all over the world. Ivanka, one of the six visionaries, comes to Carlow on Sunday 17 October during a tour of just four venues in Ireland. The event starts at 6pm with Rosary and is followed by Mass.
