PREPARE yourselves - the party will soon be starting. Carlow Town Centre Traders are about to open up Tullow Street to a chaotic day of fun.
A street party in aid of Carlow Hospice in association with The Nationalist, will be held on Saturday 21 August from noon to 4pm.
The pedestrianised area of the street will be transformed with a carnival like atmosphere as street entertainers, food stalls, musicians, actors, singers and dancers pound the pavement for your amusement.
The entire event will have one sole purpose and that is get all of us to dig deep into our coffers for the Hospice...well, that and to have piles of fun!
So far ten acts have definitely confirmed that they will be performing, amongst them the Tinryland Variety Group while Bernard Jennings and John O’Sullivan will also sprinkle a little of their comedic magic onto proceedings.
The Farmers’ Market will also be on hand to share their foodie delights as will Askea Country Market.
Stalls will be set-up on street and organisers have promised to put-up some seating so people can relax and enjoy the day.
Fashion lovers will also get an opportunity to peruse the latest styles with a fashion show, while local radio KCLR will be broadcasting live from Tullow Street from 2pm to 4pm with Brendan Hennessy as MC.
There might also be some surprises in store as organisers are currently trying to persuade some well-known personalities to lend a helping hand on the day!
