WEST Wicklow Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club will run a classic car and motorcycle run on Sunday 8 August.

The run is being held in aid of the West Wicklow Day Care Service, who provide excellent services for older members of the local community.

The day care service covers all of west Wicklow, with bus services to and from the centre.

In many cases, this is the only opportunity that senior citizens from rural areas have to meet their friends and neighbours for a chat and a friendly smile. The centre also provides a range of medical and care services, as well as entertainment, crafts along with much more.

The classic car and motorcycle run will take place along a 40 mile route with a stop-off at the Carlow Classic Club’s show in Tullow. The Tullow classic club show takes place at the Blackgates, also on Sunday 8 August.

The starting point for West Wicklow Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club rally is Germaine’s Inisfail, Baltinglass. Registration is from 1.30pm, with the cars expected to get under way at 2.30pm sharp.

There will be a competition to keep kids amused, while passengers and all drivers will be entered into a free draw for a range of prizes. The run finishes at Germaine’s with a prize-giving followed by a meal.

This is an ideal chance to support a really worthwhile cause, while also having a fun day out for all the family.

So, if you have got any vehicle capable of the trip please join take part in the run and if you are not taking part, why not drop down and see the cars and bikes before the start?
