THE LORD Bagenal Hotel was positively beaming on Thursday 17 November for the launch of Edward Hayden’s Get Cooking cookbook.
There was a fantastic turnout for the Graignamanagh chef’s tasty demo, which was in aid of BEAM Services, Bagenalstown.
With a host of simple, delicious recipes, the book and demonstration evening proved an overwhelming success.
The cookbook was developed for ease of use, with plenty of pictures to make the whole process much more user-friendly.
Colour coding, simple ingredients and equipment are also used to enhance the cooking experience.
Olive Keating, manager of BEAM Services, thanked all the staff and volunteers who were involved in the project, including “Irene and Catherina and members Paul, Edel, Kevin, David, Sinead, John, Barry, Margaret and Caroline”.
After that, celebrity chef Edward demonstrated how to cook four recipes from the book, with the help of the members who worked on its compilation.
When the cookery demonstration and tastings were over, Edward mingled with the crowd and refreshments were served followed by the raffle.
According to Olive, the book is selling “extremely well” and those interested in purchasing it can call BEAM Services on 059 9723504 or drop in to the centre on Regent Street, Bagenalstown.
