TINRYLAND native Trish Purcell is planning to shave off her long hair in aid of a cause very close to her heart.

On Saturday 5 November, Trish and a host of family and friends will have various body parts shaved and waxed in aid of the Heart Children Ireland support group.

Trish’s four-year-old daughter Caitriona suffers from a congenital heart disorder and the family has been overwhelmed by the hard work and assistance of the nationwide support group.

“Heart Children Ireland don’t receive any government funding and depend completely on fundraising and donations. We’d love people to come along and support the night, and any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated,” Trish told The Nationalist.

Almost 20 brave men and women have volunteered to take part in the night, many of whom have been touched by the good work of Heart Children Ireland.

If you wish to donate to the fundraising drive, log onto http://www.mycharity.ie/event/trishpurcell-headshave/ or come along to Palatine clubhouse from 9.30pm on the night.
