ALMOST 1,000 pumpkins will be used for this year’s Halloween celebrations at Rathwood Garden Centre.

The pumpkins were grown on the farm of Eamon Mullins at Carne, Co Wexford and are now destined to entertain young and old this Halloween.

The pumpkin train and Halloween celebrations at Rathwood take place from Saturday 22 October to Wednesday 2 November inclusive.

One of the main activities this year is the Rathwood Pumpkin Train Ride, where children get to visit the forest on board the Rathwood train. At the end of the train ride, each kid will get to pick a locally grown pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Adding to the atmosphere, the Rathwood witches will then help the children carve their pumpkins so they can bring them home.

Kids are also encouraged to dress up as there are prizes for the best fancy dress costume.
