OUTGOING St Patrick’s GFC chairman Chris Murphy has agreed to take the chair for one more year.

Murphy initially stated that he would not be standing and the club’s AGM on Saturday, 14 January was adjourned when a replacement could not be found.

However, he was persuaded to stay on by members of the club at a refixed meting at the weekend.

“It was a positive meeting,” said secretary Mick O’Neill.

“Overall, Chris would prefer to step down but he agreed to let his name go forward as long as an effort is made to get someone in place for next year.”

Full Committee: Chairman, Chris Murphy; Secretary, Mick O’Neill; PRO, Tadgh Madden; Vice Chairman and Treasurer, Lorcan O’Toole; Committee, Tom Fitzgerald, Padraig Murphy, Peter Fitzgerald, Gary Maxwell, Brother Bosco Mulhern, James Tobin, Sean Nolan, George Murphy.

The new committee have been given the right to co-opt new members if they wish to do so.
