DAVID BYRNE from Riverside in Carlow found a rock with a little face on it recently when his dog Tiger brought it into his house after digging in the back garden.
“I saw him chewing something so I went over and took the rock out of his mouth; I was surprised at how heavy it was,” said David.
Having looked at the rock, David noticed a distinct face engraved on its surface, which he is calling “The Face of Riverside.”
David is unsure how the rock got into his back garden and is curious to know what it’s made of.
“I’ve shown it to friends and they got a fright – I can’t make head nor tail of it. I’d love to know what it’s made of, it seams to be very old, maybe it’s a piece of a meteorite or maybe aliens put it there. Who knows what it is – it’s very strange.”
