A ROW has erupted between Carlow Town Hurling Club and the Carlow County Board with the town club claiming that the Carlow senior football management failed to honour commitments to a number of their dual status players over the weekend.

THE Carlow minor footballers finally put to bed a losing streak that goes all the way back to the 2007 Leinster championship with a confident eight-point defeat of Wexford at Dr Cullen Park last Wednesday evening.
THIS Friday night sees the launch of the Leinster senior hurling and football championships with the county senior teams out in force at Dr Cullen Park.
AT the final whistle on Saturday, manager Johnny Nevin gathered his minor hurlers around him and began the preparation for the next round of the Leinster championship, no doubt telling them that there would be bigger games ahead.

The Carlow minor hurlers completed a fine week for the county at that age group, complementing the footballers’ win over Wexford last Wednesday with a two-point win over Westmeath in Mullingar on Saturday afternoon.
THE Carlow minor team were acutely aware of the county’s poor record in Leinster in recent years.
