SOME sartorial aces were served recently when Carlow Lawn Tennis Club hosted a sold-out fashion show in the Seven Oaks Hotel.

Fifteen of the club’s members were chosen to show off the gorgeous clothes when, after their initial butterflies, they confidently sashayed down the catwalk.

“There were lots of nerves at the beginning but after their first go on the runway, they were fine,” said Annette Flynn, chairperson of the club. “It was a great social event for us and a fantastic fashion show. The shops involved got great feedback, too, so everyone benefited.”

Faith Amond acted as MC for the 270 people who made up the audience, while the models themselves looked absolutely fabulous with their hair-dos by Berlin Hair and make-up by Sam McCauley’s chemists. The club would like to thank all those involved, especially the businesses that contributed to the raffle.

The event raised an impressive €3,500, which was so successful that it looks game, set and match to become an annual event.

“We’re putting it into our diaries for next year!” concluded Annette.
