A CARLOW beauty salon has emerged as one of the best in the country, following a nationwide poll in one of Ireland’s leading magazines. Beauty Republic, Kennedy Street, Carlow was placed second in a competition to find Ireland’s best beauty salon, which was run by RSVP magazine.

The Carlow salon first secured its place in the top ten, then emerged as runner-up following a nationwide vote. Beauty Republic was pipped at the post for the number one slot by a beauty salon in Tuam, Co Galway.

“We’re delighted and I just want to thank all our clients for voting. I couldn’t believe we were second in the country,” said Michelle Bolger of Beauty Republic.

“Six beauty salons from Carlow were nominated and then the top ten was announced and we were delighted to be in that; then to come second was just brilliant,” she added.

Bagenalstown native Michelle first opened Beauty Republic seven years ago following a career in beauty therapy, which included working at some of Ireland’s leading laser clinics in Dublin as well as teaching beauty therapy in Carlow.

Michelle is joined at the salon by beauty therapists Tracy O’Dwyer and Sandra Barns.

“We always offer our clients a personal touch and keep up to date with the latest beauty treatments and skincare technology – I think that’s why our clients voted for us,” said Michelle.
