CARLOW Regional Youth Services (CRYS) is warning people not to give money to bogus money collectors who are calling from door-to-door in Carlow and Graiguecullen.

Paddy Aylesbury, a spokesperson for CRYS, said that at least two people were knocking on people’s doors claiming that they were collecting money for the youth organisation. “We’ve been made aware that people are collecting money for CRYS,” Paddy told The Nationalist. “This is not what we do. We organise our own fundraising events and have a flag day.

“These people are definitely not collecting for us. It’s completely unauthorised, too, so we’re telling people not to give them money,” Paddy added.

He also said that the matter had been reported to the gardaí, who are investigating.
